1 year no coffee, 1 month no alcohol.. The coffee is something I never thought I could give up and detoxing isn’t easy and lasts a lot longer then I thought it would. The first week or so being the worst.
I’ve been drinking coffee everyday since I was a teenager... still not sure how I made it a year but overall feeling less anxious and able to sleep easier. Overall more energy all day rather than just bursts after drinking coffee.
The hardest part was when I did have trouble sleeping and pushing through just wanting to give up and drink coffee. Instead I’d get an iced green tea with extra lemon and eventually that’s given me enough of a caffeine boost over time and also made my immune system much stronger.
Just wanted to share incase it’s something other people have been thinking of doing. Hope this helps or gets you thinking of giving your body a detox even for a short amount of time. Challenge yourself. Oh ya the alcohol part was hard too lol... turning it down in social situations isn’t easy but no hangovers is so worth it... No growth comes from staying in your comfort zone, don’t underestimate your power to change yourself...
When I first heard about this challenge I thought it is easy, but it wasn’t. I found myself reaching out to my phone for a ton of things. But at the end of it I managed to not use my phone for anything other than checking the time! #WashingtonApplesDigitalDetox
