Today I was honored to be a small part of setting up the Healing Field in Sandy. They say many hands make light work, and that was certainly very true today! An army of volunteers was able to get those hundreds of flags set up in a little under two hours. I had the privilege of placing the names on individual flags. It really drove home for me the impact of this event, and the importance of remembering the people these flags represent.
If you would like to partake of the reverence of this incredible field, it will be up through the 12th of September. There are also a couple of free events you don't want to miss!
Tomorrow at 6 PM there is a free benefit concert featuring Charly Jenkins.
Next Wednesday, 9/11, there is a honorary program starting at 7 PM.
All events will take place in front of the Sandy City Hall, 10000 Centennial Parkway.
Special shout out to @1stfieldofhonor for the flags, as well as @honorvet365, the benefiting charity, and everyone who came out to make the @healingfield a reality!
@colonialflag Why is the app not showing the half-staff status this morning?
Today, we honor all those who lost their lives 18 years ago on 9/11. It was my great privilege to attend a memorial ceremony at the Healing Field to not only remember those 3,000 people, but also to remember fallen Utah first responders and military members. There was truly a spirit of reverence as we took a moment to remember them and their loved ones.
Tears flowed freely as I listened to the speakers so eloquently express patriotism, memories, histories, and honor. The music was beautiful, and it all reminded us that we are stronger together.
The roses represent the firemen (red), innocent civilians (white), loved ones (yellow and black), police officers (blue), and our Armed Forces (green) who we remember this day.
Thank you again to @honorvet365, @1stfieldofhonor, @healingfield, @sandycityutah, Colonial Flag, and all those seen and unseen who made this a reality! You have blessed our lives with your service!
And thank you to the incredible first responders and members of the Armes Forces who serve us everyday. We are in your debt!

Being a sneaker head, I obviously own many pairs of Nike shoes. However, their decision to pull a shoe depicting a colonial flag is disgraceful. The flag does not represent oppression, racism or support for slavery. Let’s not forget that many individuals of original thirteen colonies fought and lost their lives for the freedom of African Americans. I am not proud of many things in our country’s history but I’m damn proud to be an American.
Also, let’s all ignore the fact that Nike makes billions in profits by employing people who work for peanuts in inhuman work environments. Where is the social justice and outrage there?!? Until Nike gets their shit together, I’ll continue to pass on their products and gladly give my business to Adidas. Give me them Yeezy’s.
"The city had been founded on the sound principles of religious tolerance, a free press, and good landscaping, by William Penn—a man who grew tree saplings in bathtubs, and who had imagined his metropolis as a great nursery of both plants and ideas."
A day late and a dollar short! Story of our life! 😂 I took the kids to the healing field so we all could get a better idea of how many people lost their lives. It was neat to read the cards on each flag. It told who the person was, where they were, and a little about them. Something that I loved about the healing field was the amount of big, beautiful dragonflies! Some believe that a dragonfly can be the spirit of someone that has passed on. .
#USA and #UK:
We support #HongKong "peaceful" Protesters against #China...that "liberated" "peacefully" LegCo...and made a new avant-guard Decor in the whole place...and put the rightfully #ColonialFlag on it.
Emotional overload the last few days. Many of us have been touched by the purpose of #healingflight1
The respectful tribute shown for the many veterans has also touched the hearts of many.
For us on team FTF it was powerful to see this community come to action, united in pulling off the miracle of finding the right canyon, people, resources and grit in 72 hours.
How about one with ALL of America on it then, if you are so hell-bent on being PROUD of your nation? You crazy person. It wasn't an AMERICAN FLAG. It was a #ColonialFlag. Have you ever been to school?
Or was it Texas...? That makes sense..
