Resilience: the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness // This is what resilience looks like... the corn in this field was planted on 4/28/19 during our first open week of the year. It was the last field planted before we received 4+ inches of rain accompanied by unseasonably cool weather. The other hundreds of acres we planted before this farm had to be replanted, no questions asked. However, after sitting in the ground for over two weeks in cool wet conditions, the corn emerged and looks exceptionally well considering the circumstances. The old “knee high by the Fourth of July” rule will hold true for this farm and let’s be honest, we need some good news after the longest, wettest #plant19 ever.
