Barrel size matters 🤓! Winemakers use 🍇 a great variety of barrels, from the smaller pièce and barrique (225 lt) to the moderately-sized Puncheon to the large Foudre (1000 - 20.000 lt). Aging a great wine in an excellent barrel improves the juice!
The ways in which barreling changes wine has to do with the surface area available 🔥. The aging is caused by the indirect result of oxygen entering the wine through the barrel.
The aging process changes depending upon how much wood (as a result oxygen) is in contact with the wine. So the bigger the wood the less oak/oxygen effect. In the end it's all about wine style 💢🍷💢!

🔥🥁 Biggest Debate ON 🥁🔥! What's your favorite pasta and wine pairing? And most importantly would you 😅 share your food or your wine? I go for the wine (please let me have the carbonara ❤️) but let's sip this delicious Primitivo 🍇 from Salento, Puglia.
A great wine from @masseriaaltemura "Sasseo 2017" 🍷 is full-bodied, warm with a silky profile. The nose has notes of dark fruits 🍒 with a herbal Mediterranean 🌿 sensation and hints of coffee and tobacco. On the palate it's juicy, with rich 💢 fruits, sweet herbs and milk chocolate, smooth tannins & an elegant finish!
Oh la la ⚡! Super value for money and you can find it online 💻! Who's a pasta lover?
It’s early spring here in Chile... as you know, Chile is located on the western coast of South America and is naturally protected by all sides. Because of that Chile has never been affected by phylloxera and now has some of the worlds oldest vines 🍇☝🏼this year is one of the driest years in the long time 🥵
Chile has a very sunny but dry climate which makes it perfect for combating diseases and having all kind of organic and sustainable wine production — actually 75% of all exported wine is sustainably produced!! 🍷
Fascinating to see how little and how big wine growing techniques vary is in different parts of the world. @conchaytoro gave us a wonderful tour around their demonstration gardens and explained all the tips and tricks they use for wine growing in this part of the world. 🙏

Pierre-Yves Colin is the eldest son of the famed Marc Colin. After working as the winemaker at his father’s domaine from 1994 to 2005, he established his own domaine from family vineyards he inherited from his family. Since that time, he has rapidly become a star in the Cote de Beaune and is now considered one of Burgundy’s top producers. His choice to use larger demi-muid barrels and eschew the use of battonnage, makes each one of his bottlings a clear expression of its terroir and a study in mineral-driven Chardonnay. As scary as it may seem, with each new vintage his wines seem to get better and better.
Pierre Yves Colin Morey 특유의 우아함과 농축미를 매력적으로 표현하면서도 2014 빈티지의 파워까지 겸비한!!

The Léoville Poyferré 1982 is until today still my favorite vintage for this Saint Julien beauty. I had numerous bottles and only once was disappointed by a corked one. This is my last bottle and I was looking forward to opening.
This bottle didn't need any decanting, it jumped right out of the gates.
The nose had blackberries, cassis, tobacco, leather, pencil shavings and some earthy notes.
It is full bodied with mellowed tannins.
Acidity and fruit are still perfectly balanced with a good minerality to complement.
This is Saint Julien at its best, elegant, complex, still vibrant.
If you're looking for a relatively affordable Bordeaux from the legendary 1982, look no further.
Its creator Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon defined 2008 as his most successful millennium, “potentially better than 2002, is 1996, perhaps even better than the mythical 1988.
Roederer founded in 1776, and the diamond of the company Cristal champagne was created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II and in fact it was the first Cuvée de Prestige in the world, still the result of the assembly of 40 vineyard plots by the Grands Crus of the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs. 2008, it is an exceptional year for the duration of the vegetative and maturation process, which was favored by a constant sunshine and low temperatures, two elements that led to an extremely gradual maturation of the grapes.
The 2008 Cristal is mind-boggling, deep, intense, concentrated, mineral and at the same time delicate thanks to the calcareous soils from which the grapes come.
Sweet candies, citrus fruits, orange blossom, peach blossom, the fineness of jasmine and bergamot, gradually dominated by a minerality that starts with the flint, evolves on the craie and finally becomes a breathtaking champagne.
Happy #Friday! 🥃 my first taste of the @the_macallan EDITION NO.5...on the 👃🏼Honey, Raisin, Pear, fresh bread with a slight floral note. this whisky smells incredible! On the 👅 lemon, grapefruit, apple, dark chocolate and oak! Wow what a beautiful dram! The finish is pretty long and left a ripe cantaloupe and clementine taste on my tongue!
