what’s your favourite book? i know, this is such a hard question since there are SO. MANY. amazing books out there! i realise i haven’t recommended books to you all in a while so here are 10 books i love ,,,,,,
✨the brief wondrous life of oscar wao by junot díaz (seriously omg EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS)
✨the secret history by donna tartt (secrets? a society of greek scholars? tragedy, mystery, murder, ART? this book is a masterpiece)
✨the great gatsby by f. scott fitzgerald (fitzgerald is always a pleasure to read—he writes with the most lush and lyrical prose unlike any other)
✨the song of achilles by madeline miller (greek mythology, lgbtq+ literature, SO amazing)
✨all the light we cannot see by anthony doerr (WWII historical fiction set in france, gorgeous writing!!)
✨vicious by v.e. schwab (sci-fi, antihero, no romance, reads like an x-men/frankenstein crossover)
✨the astonishing color of after by emily x.r. pan (taiwanese mc rep! 🇹🇼 delicately deals with mental health in the asian community & mental health in general)
✨six of crows by leigh bardugo (probably one of my fav YA novels out there—engaging, witty characters and banter, adventures and heists)
✨the catcher in the rye by j.d. salinger (the mc is the biggest relatable mood ever)
✨the nightingale by kristin hannah (another WWII historical fiction, equal parts beautiful and tragic)

#WhoTellsOurStories : Alexandra
American Panda was the first book where i finally saw things where it went beyond “it's just a family thing” or “it's just an asian thing.” For the first time, it felt more than “it's just a culture thing.” In some weird way, seeing parts of my culture in a book made it more real and more valid. And that's something so important and indescribable for everyone. EVERYONE should be able to see their race, gender, religion, sexuality, mental illness, etc etc etc is valid and real.” – @twirlingpages

what’s a habit you’ve been meaning to kick? 🧡 I try not to drink coffee twice a day—but lately with the second half of my last semester of high school closing in, I might. . .just maybe. . .need it ☕️☕️☕️

what’re your bookish habits? 📖
✰ I reorganize my shelf every time I get a new book/remove an old one
✰ use random objects (like staplers) as a bookmark in a pinch
✰ don’t annotate my books (idc if others do, but personally I feel weird writing in my books)
✰ usually know which book I’m buying when I enter a bookstore
✰ I rarely dnf books (I like 99% of the books I read)
• What's something that always makes you smile?
I'm having a bad day and I want to have a nap but if I do I know it will take me an hour to fall asleep and then I'll need to get up before I even get to sleep •
Hope you're having a good day
• If your favourite book got a movie/TV adaptation who would you cast as the main character?
It's been a whole two weeks since I posted a photo of Oatmeal so here you go. She is currently sitting on my lap trying to chew on the end of the lollipop stick that is sticking out of my mouth, because she's classy
Hope you're having a nice day
