Day 19 H.A.L.T. Why are about to eat? Are you tracking your food? Are you getting your fluids? Maybe you're thirsty?
Mostly we eat because we are hungry, sometimes we really need to ask ourselves, am I really hungry though? Am I angry? Am I lonely? Am I tired? These are things that might cause us to mindlessly eat.
This is why you want to track your food, know exactly what you are eating and how much. This is important because you don't want to start back with old habits. If you track your food and see a change in your body or on the scale, you can explain it. Or maybe you need to talk to your doctor, but with this information they can help you get back on track or make adjustments to you're food choices.
And sometimes we mistake being thirsty for being hungry. Are you getting in the ounces of water your surgeon/nutritionist told you to get in everyday.
You can either track your fluids and food with a journal or download apps. Many of these apps will let you scan the packaging of what you are eating and put ther information in for you.
