~~yoga is when every cell of the body sings the song of the soul 🌼b.k.s.iyengar~~
What does yoga mean to me? In a busy life, it is my time when I feel connected to myself, my breath. It's that time where I get to focus on what is truly important to me and let go of what is not, to understand better the things I can control, and to let go and not stress about all of those I cannot. It is that time when the chatter in my brain slowly subsides and makes way for silence to speak to me. Alignment of soul, mind and body is yoga to me. That is what yoga is to me. What does yoga mean to you?

SENIOR THOUGHTS: if you told me 4 years ago that I’d become a powerlifter, have the ability to lift the amount of weight that I can, that I’d become co-president of the campus powerlifting club... I probably would’ve laughed in your face #everyonestartssomewhere
Focus on the process, not the results✌🏽 The series of actions that we do & how we get there should make us happy - because we deserve that.
If you like to go to the gym, do it. If you’d rather spin in a hype group class environment, do it! & if you’d rather just move your body and go for nice low intensity walks, DO IT. Challenge yourself, try new things, & enjoy the process of you being able to better yourself.
This is my Saturday reminder to you and me that if you trust yourself & your happiness, you can do lots of things ✨ even if you don’t believe it yet - you will.
Happy Saturday you killa’s 👊🏽
#YogisLoveOurBodies2 Day 1 💖 happy birthday @jennametal! I’ve been so excited for this challenge to start. If you haven’t noticed, you very rarely see my post anything from straight on. I always post at an angle to make myself look thinner. Definitely need to get out of that mindset. Also, Bella decided that this is her yoga mat and her meditation pillow 😂

Incline Hammer curls -
are a great way of activating the biceps as taking them behind the torso works for a greater range of motion and even a lighter weight works wonders on this exercise.
Bicep curls -
can be performed with various variations DUMBELL/MACHINE/BAR, standing/sitting, alternate/together, but what remains constant is the position of the elbow. It's not about moving the weight from point A to point B. It's about contraction and elongation of the target muscle. Movements otherwise, decrease the range of motion and therefore are less effective.

Im not a fan of constantly checking my weight on the scale and we all know in this lifestyle your weight fluctuates. However I did lose 6lbs post surgery. Most people would love to drop weight, me on the other hand I want to gain it because it can be so difficult however I’ve learned If I feel good that’s all that matters not the numbers. Time to gain some muscle 🙂💪
⌚️DON"T EAT AFTER 7PM by @harefit_
. 🔥Another fitness myth that needs to die! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⏰Calories do not change dependant on the time you eat them. So if you are set to eat in a deficit with a calorie goal of 1500 per day it doesn't matter at what point you eat these calories. As long as you stick to this calorie goal (and you've worked out your deficit right) you will lose weight. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🍫Now... where a lot of people fall down is that when they eat at night they tend to pick high calorie, processed snack foods that certainly will destroy your goals for the day. If you haven't already seen it then go checkout my cravings post i made yesterday for some quick tips on low calorie foods 👍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👊I can give you all the tips & advice in the world but a lot of this still comes down to your own discipline. I can't be stood at the side of your fridge slapping your hand away 👏 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🦄So don't let this mythical time stand in your way of eating. If you need to eat late that's totally fine. Just stick to the meals you would normally eat and not snacking on that bag of crisps and dip or tub of B&J's at the back of the freezer 👌 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you know someone who needs to see this then please tag them below 👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have an awesome day!

#throwback to the last decade .. dramatic, isn't it? 😂
These pictures are from my performance last month at #Sagara. Being #backafterbaby has been quite an uphill climb. It has been slower than the first time, but quite steady. Over the past year I managed to shed about 11 kilos. But most importantly, I have gotten fitter and stronger. I still have a lot more work in store for me but I wanted to stop, reassess my progress and be proud of what I have achieved thus far.
I tend to be overly critical about myself and this exercise of 'stop, reassess, appreciate' has brought a marvelous change in my life. Looking forward to this year's performances with renewed energy!

Could nottt love this guy more. Swolemate, best friend, loverrr. Why you so cute? 🤤🥰❤️ #itswhitneybitch
i’m THAT GIRL who... makes 8262637 changes to my order (aka cashier’s worst nightmare)🤦🏼♀️
but if that means i can get THREE flavors on my @pressedjuicery freeze, instead of two, then i’m not stopping anytime soon #sorrynotsorry 😬 i got the usual: chocolate & vanilla swirl, with a *little* pumpkin on the side. for toppings, i got cocoa drizzle, almond butter, and chocolate chips. same order everyyyy time (but it never gets old 😝)
++ if you’ve never had a freeze, WYD?! drop all your things and get one now. i insist 💗
HAPPY SATURDAY, friends! 🍦 #bitesbyhaley
