OK hi it’s me, showing up on a random tuesday night and I need to be real with y'all about being a small business owner🧐 THIS SHIZ IS HARD.
It's not for the faint of heart, that's for freaking sure. .
As small biz owners, we put SO much time, love, energy, hard work, sweat, and tears into our biz and making it what we want it to be. And so often, it feels like it's never enough. There's always more to be done. Ways to work smarter and not harder. Upgrades to be made🥵🥵🥵
And then we hop on here and we're smacked in the face with the comparison game.😫 or we get a bunch of no’s (which is totally expected but still stings). Or we get to evaluating our quarterly goals and new year goals and it's scary (lol goals be that way hahaha🤓). IDK about you but it makes it feel like because we aren't an overnight success or if our business isn't EXACTLY where we want it to be, then we too aren't enough or that we won't ever be.
Self-doubt is a real pain in the 🍑 .
Something I've been working on a lot this year is having grace with myself and speaking kindly to myself. It's helped a freakin' ton in times like this. If I find myself saying things about myself that I wouldn't say about my besties, then it's time to take stop✋, take a step back and give myself some grace. The trick works wonders. .
So TLDR; this small business stuff is hard, but have grace with yourself -- especially during this holiday season. You got this. And remember, if your dreams don't scare you a little bit, reach a little bit further.
Ok continue on your random Tuesday scrolling

Shop small business this Christmas! I do a post about shopping small this time every year because I’m passionate about supporting the small business owners and Australian brands and Christmas is the perfect time to do so 🎄
Shopping small and local means you are not only directly supporting that business owner and their family, you are also supporting their dreams and voting with your dollar to say “yes I want this business around - I support and love what you do.” Plus you’ll receive something made with love, thought and soul. And I know first hand how encouraging it is when someone believes in your brand and supports you, no matter how big or small the order is.
I’ve tagged some of my favourite local businesses in this post (and there are so many more!). Who are your faves? Comment them below and spread the love 🧡

With Christmas looming it’s often hard to find a moment to take a deep breath and enjoy the excitement that comes with the season.
As I mentioned in my stories earlier, I’ve been feeling a bit ‘meh’ and looking for a way to inject some more meaning and kindness into my charge towards Christmas.
Right after I post this I’m going to spend some time writing reviews. I want to let some special businesses who I’ve been working with this year know just how much they mean to me. Think Facebook reviews, Google reviews and DM’s.
If you’ve got a spare moment why don’t you reach out to a wonderful biz owner who you’ve loved working with this year. Who knows, that little piece of positivity might just power that person through a super tough couple of weeks.
