If I’ve learned anything from Star Wars, it’s that rebellions are built on hope. So last week, I asked everyone to share their repair stories using the hashtag #imagenius.
I wanted to show the world that there are repair geniuses outside of the Genius Bar. I wanted to prove that repair is for everyone. And, more than anything, I wanted every repair rebel out there to know that they’re not alone, and that we have something big device makers don’t have—hope.
Thousands of fixers from all over the galaxy shared their repair stories. I’ve included a few here, but click that link in my bio for even more.
Someone built this iPhone 6s from used parts outta China and did a rubbish job of it 😂
Just to name a few issues:
Missing screws and brackets
Loose screws inside
Knock off parts
Missing camera lens
Superglue in the camera
WHAT A WEEK END!
Can you believe millions of us walked around the world against climate breakdown? 😍 I couldnt believe the amount of people in Berlin in was the biggest climate protest in Europe and one of the largest in the history of Germany: around 300.000 people! We made history guys! 🌍💚 Now, let me tell you why I walked in #Berlin and not in #Brussels. I was here to attend #fixfest, a festival of community repair activists from around the world.
I have learned SO MUCH. Everyday, people like you and I dedicate time to fix others appliances for free in #repaircafes and #restartparties. They are fighting planned obsolescence, overconsumption, depletion of resources and creating sustainable communities like I has never seen before ✊⛏ Repair is absolutely one of the solution in our toolbox to fix the climate. Did you know that the full life of smartphones in the EU is reponsible for 14 millions tons of CO2 which is the carbon budget of Latvia in Eastern Europe? That stuff we consume are responsible for up to 60 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions and between 50 and 80 percent of total land, material, and water use? 🌍
Repair, reuse, refurbish represent incredible economical opportunities for a more sustainable and fair society that does not exploit natural society or workers half way around the world ♻🛇 I can not wait to tell you more about the topic very soon but before that, have you ever considered repair as a solution to the planet's issues?
Clothing Fix it today!
Bring your beloved garments to get them repaired at our monthly free Clotting Fix it event at the Mount Pleasant Library.
This month is the 3rd year anniversary of our monthly fix it events at the library.
Which makes it the 36 event there!
Still feeling inspired by the #globalstrikeforfuture that made history yesterday around the 🌍? Did you know that the full lifecycle of Europe's smartphones generates 14 Million tonnes of emissions / year? That's more than the carbon budget of Latvia in 2017!
We are fighting to change that by asking for a universal #righttorepair so that people can keep their stuff longer!
Are you in? 😉

Best EXERCISE? Walking works with all the systems of the body at once. It helps blood flow to all the cells. Gets out all the toxins through sweat. There are floor exercises, cardio workout, elliptical, etc. Can practice with doctor’s/ trainer’s advice.
Will exercise always help? Then why YOGA? While exercising for fat burn and glucose burn, we create little heat, tension in the muscles and tissues of the body. Which serves the purpose but tissues do need relaxation. The role of yoga comes in handy. To relax and rejuvenate. Meaning ‘to stay YOUNG’.Sounds cooler. To absorb all the nutrients from food, cells need energy. There comes the ‘youth of you’ to surface.
The #righttorepair European campaign is now officially live!
We are a group of people, sustainability activists, independant repairers and communities.
We believe products should last longer and therefore, when broken, should be repaired.
We are asking for the right to repair!
