While I was on my little IG hiatus I decided to get some curtains for Ivy’s bedroom. She’ll be moving in there shortly and after trying (TRYING being the key word 🤦🏾♀️) to encourage her to nap in there these last few weeks it became clear that it’s not dark enough because lights spills in either side of the Roman blinds. These pink velvet curtains do just the trick and look so pretty. They’re a bit thin, so my plan is to add some lining for additional warmth and to block out as much light as possible! .
This cute little round window is all very nice to look at BUT it’s a flipping nightmare to find curtains/blinds for. So, I’m going to do what I love the most and get handy and come up with my own solution using the leftover fabric from the pink curtains when I shorten them. Watch this space!
Happy Monday everyone and hello to my new followers, who have found my account thanks to the lovely Rey over at @thewillishome 💛 Here’s a little bit about me and the home that we’re always doing work to.
1. My name is Dionne, I’m 32 and I live in London with my husband and our baby daughter Ivy
2. We bought our 1930s 3 bedroom semi detached house in April 2017 and started a complete overhaul. The same couple lived in it since the 50s and it hadn’t been touched, so as DIY enthusiasts we were excited to start again by restoring some of the original features but also adding a contemporary twist on it to reflect our own taste. .
3. Every single room has been redone, with the exception of the kitchen (more about that later) but the bathroom, living room and the external of the house have had the most drastic transformation. .
4. When we moved in we planned to do a big ground floor extension and add a kitchen, utility room and toilet BUT with the arrival of our first baby we decided to pause those plans and resume that part of the renovation at a later date. I can’t think of anything worse than embarking on a massive reno project with a new baby!! 😱
So that’s a little bit about me and my renovation journey so far! If you’re in the middle of a project at the moment let me know in the comments as I’m nosey and love hearing about what people are doing to their homes! .
