About 80 percent of your body’s immune cells live in your gut or intestine. The population of bacteria and other microbes — roughly 100 trillion — that make up your gut microbiota play a big role in the strength of your immune system. A healthy, diverse gut microbiota makes it difficult for illness-causing bacteria and viruses to take hold. A weak, sparsely populated microbiota with a shortage of “good” bacteria can leave you open to both minor illnesses — like colds and the flu — and more serious health conditions.
Germs and viruses live for SEVEN days. Flu germs live for 24-48 hours depending on the surface. Anti bacterial, ammonia, bleach, and Lysol (which along with bleach, the EPA labels as a pesticide 😳), and are of the WORST THINGS YOU CAN DO TO A COMPROMISED IMMUNE SYSTEM... especially in kids. You aren’t cleaning or disinfecting you are disrupting gut bacteria and compromising the immune system. The personal care and cleaning products we use to clean our homes and body contain some pretty nasty chemicals that have been linked to seizures, obesity, cancer, asthma, autoimmunes, and allergies to name a few. Many of us have the understanding that when we take an antibiotic, it doesn’t discriminate between good bacteria and bad (why taking a daily probiotic is so important!), but we don’t question when it comes to the antibacterial, or disinfecting promises that our cleaning products make. Triclosan, for example, is an antibacterial compound found in deodorants, antiperspirants, soaps, laundry detergents, toothpaste and hand sanitizers. Triclosan is also used as an ingredient to prevent bacteria, fungus, mildew and odours in other household products that are advertised as “anti-bacterial”. Triclosan can be absorbed through the skin and is currently believed to interfere with hormones, especially the thyroid, disrupting their normal functioning thus weakening the immune system. Children exposed to antibacterial products at an early age have an increased chance of developing allergies, asthma, obesity and asthma along with other illnesses. If you have a lot of stress, anxiety, battle depression, constantly sick, can’t sleep imagine what it’s doing to kids.

I used to go *crazy* with exercise.
I'd do two-a-days. I'd wear my garmin calorie counting, heart-rate monitor watch to monitor 'how good' I was doing (aka how many calories I was burning).
I had a rigid definition of what a "good" workout was.
Harder. Better. Faster. Stronger. Always.
I was very "results" driven. And results meant: is my body changing? Am I getting stronger every time?
Today, my relationship with exercise is *very* different.
Now -- I don't want to say that it's bad to have fitness goals and to want to become stronger. It's not bad. (as long as it's not about trying to "fix" your body).
But I just want to offer a different perspective and whisper some truth in your ear.
... if you're not a professional athlete training for a specific purpose... then girl? "harder, better, faster, stronger" ... just doesn't matter that much.
This LIBERATED me.
All I'm saying is that I move my body because yeah, I want to take care of myself. I want to be able to run around with my future kids, I want to hike until I'm an old lady. That's why I move.
I also move because it's fun. Because it offers a break from my day. Because it helps me deal with my emotions. Because it can instantly shift my energy.
And so with all that in mind... you know what *doesn't* matter? If I'm always getting to that next level of "fitness." If I'm *always* beating my previous PR on the bike. If I'm always working on "harder" postures in yoga. If I'm lifting heavier and heavier weights.
It just doesn't matter!
My body wants to move. Yes.
Moving is enough. Walking Maple (v. slowly) is enough. Doing some squats is enough. Just riding a bike is enough. Doing some sun salutations is enough. Pedaling through a cycle class is enough. Dancing in my kitchen is enough.
It's enough! It's a "good" workout!
SIGH OF RELIEF!
I'm not trying to be an Olympian. I'm not here to be the world's strongest woman. Just here to live well.

A coach said this to me and this truly broke my heart.
I get it and have been there in the beginning too...
👉🏻No one was signing up to be her client.
I’ve discovered through this that there were a few reasons why....
1️⃣ They pitched 1-2 times. No one signed up and they never pitched again. (Launch strategy)
2️⃣ They weren’t sure how exactly to pitch their coaching so it felt forced/salesy. (Fear, connection and money beliefs)
3️⃣ They were going for the home run without the foreplay. 🤷🏼♀️(sales without being salesy)
It never was a matter of her not being an amazing coach, in fact she was amazing. It came down to two things.... she didn’t know/have a strategy and she didn’t believe in herself enough to sell her coaching (yet 😉).

Needing anyone for anything (including my emotional support dog on my back!) is something I used to often struggle with, especially being raised as an independent woman of color. While I’m always a work in progress, I’m learning to accept help from others when I need it (still working on taking compliments, too!)⠀
If you’re challenged by receiving from others or asking for assistance, here are some thoughts about why it might be difficult for you:⠀
1. You believe it’s selfish to receive or experience shame when you have to ask for help.⠀
2. Receiving exposes your vulnerabilities and requires you to let go of control over what happens.⠀
3. You fear intimacy, believe you are not “enough” or neglect your worthiness and receiving creates a connection that forces you to challenge that notion.⠀
4. Your negative experiences have formed a schema that people are not inherently good and that the intent behind someone’s actions might create a pressure for you to reciprocate.⠀
5. You’re afraid of your desire for love and connection and fear that someone might disappoint you were you to open yourself up.⠀
6. You have been told that asking for help or receiving from someone else makes you weak and dependent and humble people shouldn’t ask for help. ⠀

since the Starbucks version of this holiday drink has 53g of sugar (😅😅😅) you know I had to come up with a healthy alternative that will still give you all those festive vibes🎅🏼🎄
↠ blend 1 cup hot brewed coffee with 1/2-1 tbsp @bulletproof brain octane oil (start small if you’re not used to MCT oil), 1 tsp cacao powder, 1/4 tsp @simplyorganic peppermint extract, and a few droppers liquid stevia for ~45 seconds
↠ top with 100% dark chocolate shavings
↠ optional: you could also stir in a teaspoon coconut cream to really level up

How to overcome disappointment with not reaching your goals in 2019 ...
How do you handle the feeling of disappointment of not reaching your goals this year?
You had high expectations that things would work out in your favor, but unfortunately, things didn’t unfold that way.
You’re now holding onto an unsatisfactory outcome and finding it difficult to deal with (or perhaps you're even lowering your goals because of it.)
A lot of coaches and entrepreneurs I know battle with this every single day and feel like giving up because after what can seem like a lifetime working on it, they just can’t handle it anymore ...
We've still got a few weeks left until the end of 2019 and we've already celebrated our BEST year EVER in terms of revenue and the many happy clients that we've helped.
And while I know this might not be the same reality for you and your business, there are certain steps that you need to take when you hit that gap between where you are now and where you truly want to be.
And the first one is to NOT indulge in the energies of self-doubt and discouragement.
And definitely NOT to give yourself labels like "I can never make this work", "I'm just not good enough" or "I feel so stuck..." Disappointment can be used in 2 ways:
1. To wear you down and crush you
2. Or help you clarify your personal goals and pave the way forward towards the attainment of your goals.
So imagine the feeling of disappointment talking to you and saying:
"Hey, I'm right here in front of you because we've got something to talk about ... The reason you feel disappointed right now is because you need to adjust your course ... NOT GIVE UP! You're powerful and capable, you just need to find the right way to make this work. Or find someone who can help you make this work. Let's do this!" Up for it?

If you have priorities, you are doing it wrong.
And embodying this concept will make you more productive, reduce overwhelm, and is needed to know if you want to master time blocking.
A priority is NEEDED.
A SINGULAR priority is key.🔑
But priorities--as in the plural form--is incorrect.❌🧐❌
Keep reading and both your inner grammar police as well as your creator brain will feel seen, heard, and in more control.
The word ‘priority’ is a Latin word.
It means most important, taking first, taking precedence.
The origin traced back to at least the year 1400.
And literally, for the first 540 years of existence…half a millennia...
...the word ‘priority’ was used only in the singular form.
There was no such thing as ‘priorities’ in the year 1400, because only ONE item could be first or more important.
Like Jesus or Moses. The plural version of this word did not exist in their vocabulary.
It was JUST ‘priority’; one, singular most important item.
It wasn't until the 1940s and WWII era, that the word ‘priorities’ became plural and widely used.
The craziest part about this whole thing…
When the word ‘priorities’ became plural, the word ‘overwhelm’ spiked in usage⬆️📈
That correlation is still on the rise today.
I want you to read here that>>>when priorities are plural (multiple), overwhelm increases.
Think of it like a formula.
📍If your priority is plural, your overwhelm will statistically increase.
📍To reduce overwhelm, make priority singular.
This is not to say that you don't have projects and tasks that are needed or important.
However, having a singular priority gives you a clear outcome and reason for completing work.
🌟If it does not fit your priority, it does not need to be done.
