Do you ever wonder what it is about some women? Women that command the attention of everyone when they walk into a room. Women that captures the ears of all when they open their mouth to speak. Women that are emboldened, fierce, brilliant, unapologetically themselves?
These are the women who run with wolves.
These women have a close, visceral spiritual connection with the spirits of the earth. They are capable of tapping into strength and power that those who cannot envy.
This is why strong women do not find peace in friendships until they align themselves with archetypes that mirror themselves. If you’ve ever felt like a loner, outlier, or misunderstood within your affiliations, this is probably why.

Sex or Gender? Language Matters.⠀
As a sex therapist and educator, I spend a lot of time teaching anatomy. Why? Because un-fucking-fortunately, the sexual education many of us received growing up was bullshit. ⠀
Knowing your anatomy is empowering, and yet what many of us know about our own bodies is incredibly limited. ⠀
Thankfully, I receive a ton of questions about anatomy! So, for the next few weeks we’re posting a fun informational series on all-things vulvas and vaginas. ⠀
First of all, 𝐯𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧. ⠀
Folx who are non-binary, gender-queer, intersex, even folx who identify as men, may also have vulvas and vaginas. People with vulvas and vaginas (whether they were born with one or they have one from a 𝘷𝘶𝘭𝘷𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘺) are the people who have vulvas and vaginas. Some identify as women and others may not. Vulvas are not exclusive to women.⠀
So if vulvas aren’t exclusive to women, that leads us to an important question: what’s the difference between gender and sex?⠀
𝘚𝘦𝘹: the biological identification of male, female, and intersex. Sex is often assigned at birth based on anatomical characteristcs and hormones. While sex is assigned at birth, an individual’s sex can change. ⠀
𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘐𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘺: a person’s internal sense of self. Gender is a social construct. Gender is inside your head. It is how you identify: man, woman, boy, girl, male, female, non-binary, masculine of center, and many others. Again, gender is a social construct. ⠀
𝘊𝘪𝘴𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳: “someone whose gender identity aligns with what’s expected of them based on their assigned sex.” @thinkagain wrote in the excellent book 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘺𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬. A cisgender woman is a person who was born a female and identifies as a woman. A cisgender male is a person who was born male and identifies as a man. ⠀
𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳/𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴: “people whose gender identity differs from what is expected of them based on their sex assigned at birth” @thinkagain⠀
Our hope is that this info series is helpful. Please feel free to ask questions.⠀
