Beautiful Moon over the Pacific Ocean. The Inversion Layer in the atmosphere creates the colorful splash you see here.

Also known as the Moon's "ashen glow" or the "Old Moon in the New Moon's arms", earthshine is earthlight reflected from the Moon's night side.
This stunning image of earthshine from a young crescent moon was taken from Las Campanas Observatory, Atacama Desert, Chile, planet Earth near moonset on January 18. Dramatic atmospheric inversion layers appear above the Pacific Ocean, colored by the sunset at the planet's western horizon.
But the view from the Moon would have been stunning, too. When the Moon appears in Earth's sky as a slender crescent, a dazzlingly bright, nearly full Earth would be seen from the lunar surface.
A description of earthshine, in terms of sunlight reflected by Earth's oceans in turn illuminating the Moon's dark surface, was written 500 years ago by Leonardo da Vinci.
What are your thoughts on Black Holes?Digital Art by @cgcortex
A black hole is a region of spacetime exhibiting gravitational acceleration so strong that nothing—no particles or even electromagnetic radiation such as light—can escape from it. The theory of general relativity predicts that a sufficiently compact mass can deform spacetime to form a black hole.
Albert Einstein first predicted the existence of black holes in 1916, with his general theory of relativity. The term "black hole" was coined many years later in 1967 by American astronomer John Wheeler. After decades of black holes being known only as theoretical objects, the first physical black hole ever discovered was spotted in 1971.
Then, in 2019 the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) collaboration released the first image ever recorded of a black hole. The EHT saw the black hole in the center of galaxy M87 while the telescope was examining the event horizon, or the area past which nothing can escape from a black hole. The image maps the sudden loss of photons (particles of light). It also opens up a whole new area of research in black holes, now that astronomers know what a black hole looks like.
So far, astronomers have identified three types of black holes: stellar black holes, supermassive black holes and intermediate black holes.

A Real Image of our Moon transiting the Earth. 🌍 🌑 My 2nd Page @TheOurDeepSpace
Captured by a NASA satellite. Should be in every classroom.
The moon passed between NASA’s Deep Space Climate Observatory and the Earth, allowing the satellite to capture this rare image of the moon’s far side in full sunlight. As the moon is tidally locked to the Earth and doesn’t rotate, we only ever see the one face from the Earth .
NASA's Space Climate Observatory is about 1.6 million km from Earth.
Are you ready to explore Space 🔭 @theourspace

Repórter: Então você se descreve como destemido?
Elon Musk: EU não diria que sou destemido, na verdade eu sinto um medo bem forte, mas... se o que eu estiver fazendo for importante o suficiente, então eu supero o medo.
Essencialmente, a determinação supera o medo!
Bom final de semana

#elonmusk#delozamalim#krasnodar
