Rory has been trying his hardest to convert us to be a mountain biking family and by the stoked look on Edie's face (zoom in 😂) I'd say he has won her over. With her awesome new seat from @kidsrideshotgun she can be hitting the trails with Dad all the time now 😀😜👌 #kidsrideshotgun
If you want to know more about @kidsrideshotgun seats I will be putting up a story soon of Rory putting it together and attaching it to his bike. Such a cool simple product and so much fun for the little ones to experience mountain biking 🤙

Don’t have time to get some training in? Make it!
Got a park close by? Kids will have a ball. You can get a quick session in. Everyone wins.
Stop using kids as an excuse and use them as a source of motivation

Let's talk about trying to get things done [that require concentration] with kids around 🧒🏽⠀
We founded Violeta Finance when we were pregnant with our second child. We set out to create a service that filled a gap in the market for busy parents like us⠀
We understand the struggles parents face when trying to access traditional financial services:⠀
⏱Time is a priority; you want to spend less time dealing with your finances and more time enjoying your family⠀
👶Finding a babysitter every time you have an appointment is unrealistic and expensive⠀
💲You’re balancing the family budget and want to make sure you’re getting a good deal, you want to save money where you can⠀
📖You like to make informed decisions, but don’t have time to pour over lengthy articles, papers and reports⠀
Before we created Violeta Finance there was no-one in the market addressing all these needs. We understand what’s important to you because it’s important to us too⠀
We make applying for finance fast, easy and simple. We look after the entire process and handle all the paperwork for you⠀
We offer a family-friendly service, we work around you and your family’s needs. You’re welcome to bring your children along to your appointment with us, our office is child, baby and pram friendly. We also offer a mobile service and can come to you at a time that suits you⠀
We save you money. With our panel of over 25 carefully curated lenders, we find the right finance solution to match your unique circumstances and goals⠀
We provide you with easy to access, relevant financial information and education⠀
We’re a family owned business, we look after you like you’re our family⠀

Delayed Cord Clamping
At 5-6 weeks the umbilical cord develops which carries oxygen to the baby. This cord holds a major vein that goes straight into a babies vena cava and two small arteries that connect to the kidneys to remove waste.
A baby will hold only around 2 thirds of its blood supply at birth. Allowing the cord to fully stop pulsing before cutting will increase a babies blood volume and iron levels which will help with development.
Such a simple and amazing way to start a thriving babies life.
The rumour from the school mums is kids get to wear their own clothes on their birthday. It was too late to confirm with the office. Hope this isn’t a conspiracy against me. #dadlife#fivetoday

the BEST way to fail at nutrition
is to cut out all foods you enjoy
cut out booze
force feed ‘healthy foods’
that you tolerate but don’t actually ENJOY
going balls deep <<< is not the way forward
you might last:
at some point you will break
and wake up the FOOD MONSTER
and you’ll eat all the sh*t you’ve been
and you’ll be back to square one
^^ sound familiar?
the all or nothing route doesn't work
I’ve been there before and I personally lasted 3 months
getting in shape does not
require EXTREME FOCUS << <
you don’t have to spend hours in the gym
you don’t have to skip booze >>> and your favourite foods
I’ve mentioned this before
because it works >> it allows you to enjoy life [and the weekends too]
whilst still getting in shape ===================================================
use THE 80/20 RULE
80% of your food should come from whole food single ingredients
20% of your food can be anything you like
=================================================== the goal is NOT to be 100% perfect everyday
the goal is to implement the 80/20 rule
whilst keeping track of calorie intake
and making it apart of your lifestyle
do it this way >> > and you’ll never have to go
on a restricted diet EVER AGAIN
if you want to learn more about nutrition
and how to get this side of your life
cracked once and for all
comment below with ‘6 week kick start
and I’ll send you all the info
Simon “80/20 rule” Smyth
My almost a year old son has the house dynamic figured out. He knows mama loves him and will be gentle and cuddle. He knows sissy loves him when people are looking. He knows daddy and he are locked in a battle for alpha status and he’s behaved when it’s just us. #dadlife
I’ve been in dad mode as of late, but for the next few days, I’ll be working on our next episode after everyone’s gone to bed. What better way to capture the vibe? New episode soon.

I've had countless conversations with men about the transition into fatherhood over the last 6-12 months and the overwhelming consensus has been that more support for dads and dads to be is really necessary.
There's been a big wave, and rightly so, of growing support & education for Women and the transition into Motherhood. After also speaking to a number of birth workers (midwifes, doulas etc who are in the trenches with people) the resounding feedback is that men really don't receive much guidance/support in how they can best show up and navigate this transition.
That's why Mike Dyson from @goodblokesco and I have teamed up to host this event. --------------- Full event and guest speaker details in bio 👆🏼 BECOMING FATHER Is a One Day Live Talk Event For Fathers and Fathers To Be.
The transition into fatherhood comes with some curve balls and with no shortage of challenges.
Just a few of these challenges may include:
- Difficulties conceiving.
- Loss of identity.
- The stress of providing (financially and physically/mentally/emotionally).
- Not fully understanding the changes our partner is going through.
- Not fully understanding the changes WE are going through.
- Lack of a network to be able to ask for support.
- Communication and relationship breakdown.
Our intention with this event is to equip men with the tools, the insights and the support to confidently embrace the transition into fatherhood.
There’s no one size fits all approach with this stuff but there are some principles that will enhance your ability to navigate this transition with more joy and less stress.

This little guy is an absolute crack up. Sure, he has his off days and grumble-bum days with teething. But overall, he’s pretty rad. Loving messy play with cooked spaghetti the last couple of weeks. And he’s starting to walk with his ride on/push toy down the hallway. He’s super active during rhyme time at the local library. The kid who will crawl right up to the librarian to watch or pull out all the puppets. His silly grin will put a smile on your dial, that’s for sure.
•••A perspective on yelling•••
•In our workshops we often get questions about yelling
Why do we do it?
How come we can’t stop?
•First it’s good to ask ourselves: who are we really yelling at?
Outwardly we might be yelling at our children, but truly we are yelling at ourselves from an unhealed part that is inside of us
•In certain triggering situations our inner wounds take over our precious airtime .
•Between incoming trigger and reaction is literally less than a second
And so we are driven by in impulse fired by a remembered experience
•The only way out of this toxic rut is IN
•We can re-write the story
We can extend and make space in our response time
It is possible
•This is one of the reasons we put a lot of emphasis on Inner Child Work
•The benefits of walking ourselves home are so beautiful and powerful
