Daily Devotion: Life Changes
The Bible in One Year: Psalms 107–109; 1 Corinthians 4
Today's Bible Reading: Ephesians 4:20–24
Put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:24
Stephen grew up in a rough part of East London and fell into crime by the age of ten. He said, “If everyone’s selling drugs and doing robberies and fraud, then you’re going to get involved. It’s just a way of life.” But when he was twenty, he had a dream that changed him: “I heard God saying, Stephen, you’re going to prison for murder.” This vivid dream served as a warning, and he turned to God and received Jesus as his Savior—and the Holy Spirit transformed his life.
Stephen set up an organization that teaches inner-city kids discipline, morality, and respect through sports. He credits God with the success he has seen as he prays with and trains the kids. “Rebuilding misguided dreams,” he says.
In pursuing God and leaving behind our past, we—like Stephen—follow Paul’s charge to the Ephesians to embrace a new way of life. Although our old self is “corrupted by its deceitful desires,” we can daily seek to “put on the new self” that’s created to be like God (Ephesians 4:22, 24). All believers embrace this continual process as we ask God through His Holy Spirit to make us more like Him.
Stephen said, “Faith was a crucial foundation for me changing my life around.” How has this been true for you? —AMY BOUCHER PYE
When you look back over your life, what comes to mind as key moments that prompted change? What long-lasting change resulted?
Jesus, You’re alive and working in the world and in my life. Help me become more like You day by day as I leave the old self behind.

Life in general can be discouraging at times to say the least. Add in recovery from substances..... it can be very overwhelming. When I first began my journey I remember how lonely and isolating it all was. But for so many reasons I kept going and life got better and better. So if your struggling just keep this in mind. Your trying and be proud of yourself. And as always I am rooting for you. @brad_mcleod
You will finish all you have started
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6
This is the assurance I have concerning God, this is the reality of His word concerning your family. I declare that all that you have begun will be completed in Jesus name.
There shall be no more delay, no more denial. You will complete all you have started, by the help of God. You will not be remembered for all you started but never finished, rather you will be remembered for finishing all you started.
I pray that the end of your projects will glorify God and shame will come to those who speak against you.
Resources needed to complete your projects are supplied, you have no lack, in Jesus name.
Start and finish, God is your helper!
I am Abibo Berepele
I believe in the completion of projects in your family.
Pamukkele was amazing and we love visiting these world wonders of nature. Pamukkale, meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli in southwestern Turkey. The area is famous for a carbonate mineral left by the flowing water. It is located in Turkey's Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year. The ancient Greco-Roman city of Hierapolis was built on top of the white "castle" which is in total about 2,700 metres (8,860 ft) long, 600 m (1,970 ft) wide and 160 m (525 ft) high. It can be seen from the hills on the opposite side of the valley in the town of Denizli, 20 km away.
Known as Pamukkale (Cotton Castle) or ancient Hierapolis (Holy City), this area has been drawing the weary to its thermal springs since the time of Classical antiquity. The Turkish name refers to the surface of the shimmering, snow-white limestone, shaped over millennia by calcium-rich springs. Dripping slowly down the vast mountainside, mineral-rich waters foam and collect in terraces, spilling over cascades of stalactites into milky pools below. Legend has it that the formations are solidified cotton (the area's principal crop) that giants left out to dry. #cryptocurrency#bitcoin#bitmobile#vanlife#familytravel#homeschooling#sunsets#pamukkale#passion#dreams#cryptolife#IsThereEnough#sharingiscaring#charity#humanity#independecy#decentral#yesyoucan#change#digitalnomads#celebrate#life#help#bitmobile#freedom#schooloflife#nature

I am sick. I'm not stupid or mentally disabled. I'm not crazy. It's not stress, it's not in my head. I'm not causing this myself, I'm not making it up.
I'm learning about myself everyday. How well I deal with this sickness. I can still do things for myself. I like my independance, but sometimes I may need a little help. We all need a little boost from time to time. Lend a hand, you never know how much it may mean to an endo warrior.

I never used to like mushrooms. They have been one of my least favorite foods my whole life. As a vegetarian/vegan that's not the most convenient ingredient to dislike. I read somewhere that you can change your taste perception by eating or drinking something 45 times, so I've been putting mushrooms in all my food and while they are still not something I crave, I don't mind them anymore. They can actually taste quite nice. I wanted to share this, because knowing that, there are no limits to what we can change about ourselves. If we are open to change, everything is possible 🤗 #development#change#vegan#vegetarian#food#personaldevelopment#changeyourtastebuds#changein45#mushrooms#openminded

Gravely concerned by news of the #AmazonFires. It’s so important that we care for the rainforest and #support the indigenous communities who live there. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/21/world/americas/amazon-rainforest.html
Also an amazing way to take action and that an activist friend sent me on twitter here: https://twitter.com/yumcoconutmilk/status/1164292955202555905?s=21
The lungs of the #Earth are in flames. 🔥 The Brazilian Amazon—home to 1 million Indigenous people and 3 million species—has been burning for more than two weeks straight. There have been 74,000 fires in the Brazilian Amazon since the beginning of this year—a staggering 84% increase over the same period last year (National Institute for Space Research, Brazil). Scientists and conservationists attribute the accelerating deforestation to President Jair Bolsonaro, who issued an open invitation to loggers and farmers to clear the land after taking office in January.
The largest #rainforest in the world is a critical piece of the global climate solution. Without the Amazon, we cannot keep the Earth’s warming in check.
The #Amazon needs more than our prayers. So what can YOU do?
✔ As an emergency response, #donate to frontline Amazon groups working to defend the forest.
✔ Consider becoming a regular supporter of the Rainforest Alliance’s community forestry initiatives across the world’s most vulnerable tropical forests, including the Amazon; this approach is by far the most effective defense against deforestation and natural #forest fires, but it requires deep, long-term collaboration between the communities and the public and private sectors. Link in bio.
✔ Stay on top of this story and keep sharing posts, #tagging news agencies and influencers.
✔ Be a conscious #consumer, taking care to support companies committed to responsible supply chains.
✔ When election time comes, #VOTE for leaders who understand the urgency of our climate crisis and are willing to take #bold action—including #strong governance and forward-thinking policy.
