Look at this. It’s so nice. Quiet, high, HUGE...wild...in the foreground at least 🙁 I’m not one to get into politics on here, but now we have an unparalleled opportunity to act. To participate - to realise democracy. To be game changers.
Our natural world is in crisis. We know this, we can see this - it’s heartbreaking. But - we are so lucky here in the UK to have a right to alter our course, to VOTE for the parties and policies that put nature and the planet at the HEART of decision making.
One in three 18-34 year olds weren’t registered to vote in September. And yet WE are the age group that will live with the decisions being made now. Don’t we want to be heard?
VOTE. It’s the best thing you can do for nature right now - deadline for registration @23:59 26th November on GOV.uk 🇬🇧💥
"Every citizen of this country should be guaranteed that their vote matters, that their vote is counted, and that in the voting booth, their vote has as much weight as that of any CEO, any member of Congress, or any President." — Barbara Boxer

Mary Ann Shad Cary was an educator, journalist, publisher, and activist. In 1853, Cary began publishing her own newspaper called The Provincial Freeman, making her the first Black woman to be a publisher in North America. The Provincial Freeman called for African Americans to emigrate to Canada, which was safer for ex-slaves than the United States was.
Cary later returned to the United States and earned her law degree from Howard University. She continued to work as a journalist and activist, joining the National American Women Suffrage Association and organizing her own suffrage organization for Black women, the colored Women's Progressive Franchise Association.
