Today I rest, I relax, I regroup... I take the time to give my brain a rest as well as my body...
Officially into days to go now.. 28 days to be exact and I've already started to feel the nerves. I've never been nervous before a race, not like this anyway. Whenever the requirement has been just to finish I've been fine, I know I've done the training so I know I'll complete it... This time though I have to beat people, have to finish in front of other duathletes.... That's a whole other kettle of fish.
I know my run is nowhere near fast enough, but I knew that was going to take some time to get there... My bike is fast, but not fast enough to make up for the gap I'll be in after the first run. I knew from starting this journey that this year's qualifier was likely to be my practise run before next year.... But I don't go into anything thinking like that, I go in to absolutely everything *balls out* and leaving everything out there. Training has gone better than I could have hoped thanks to @myprocoach_ and I've taken so much time off so many previous PBs, I'm on the right track....
But today I chill, I regroup... And I get ready for the next phase.
Let’s dominate this week. Motivation is the desire to act and move toward a goal. It's the difference between waking up before dawn to pound the pavement 🏃♀️ and lazing around the house all day 🥴. It's the crucial element in setting and attaining one's objectives—and research shows that people can influence their own levels of motivation and self-control.

So many incredible moments, events and people that made yesterday truly amazing! .
I went in yesterday not putting any pressure on myself, to work hard, do my best & most importantly have fun and enjoy myself! .
I can honestly say I did just that.
So don't beat yourself up about the things you wish you did differently but celebrate the things you are proud of 🙌🙌
1. Weighing in at 73kg I did 30 body weight back squats in 2 min!
2. A new 3RM DL at 135kg
3. Leaving it all out there in the final - who ever my judge was in this was just the BEST 🤗
4. Getting one last competition in with my @wit.training family 💕
5. Coming 4th out of 24 amazing strong women!

Hopefully as a collective, we showed that training to better yourself, to challenge your capabilities & to improve your performance trumps training for aesthetics hands down. ⠀
